Johnstone Construction’s sites swung back into action under Covid19 Alert Level 3. The crew returned under strict hygiene measures including being separated into work bubbles and wearing masks. Each site also has additional signage, new SignOnSite procedures, additional cleaning supplies, and new communal area procedures.
Johnstone Construction usually acknowledge Mental Health Awareness Week (MHAW) through sharing kōrero and kai with the team and our contractors at a BBQ. With gatherings on hold due to Level 3 Restrictions in Auckland, the cew have adapted to acknowledge the week. With Covid19, MHAW has looked slightly different for our team. Johnstone Construction have been participating in the daily MHAW challenge through online channels. Each morning a challenge is posted out to the team, the team will then share how they are completing the challenge either on site or from their home office.
For RĀMERE/FRIDAY the challenge is Noho tahi, kōrero tahi (Come together and Reflect). The team proposed different ideas include switching off the TV, a whānau activity day and zoom update.
Mā te kōrero, ka ora - through conversation, comes wellbeing.
