Working on the Holcim Onehunga Grinding Plant
Johnstone Construction has recently completed a complete re-clad of a concrete grinding plant in Onehunga. The client was very happy with the addition of natural light entering the grinding plant and the more modern look of the grinding plant as a result of the re-clad with clear lite.
The project had unique complexities due to the age of the existing cladding as well as the height and exposed nature of the building which sits on the Onehunga Warf, Manukau harbor. With strategic management from an environmental and health and safety perspective around the wet weather and high wind gusts, the exterior envelope was replaced.
The client required the grinding plant to remain operational throughout the project. This took careful planning with a staged approach enacted.
