Johnstone Construction comes Runner Up in the Connexis Company Training Award 'Up To $10M Turnover' category at the 2017 CCNZ Awards
It was with great pride that Johnstone Construction were nominated as 'Runner Up' for the 2017 Connexis CompanyTraining Award.
Johnstone Construction have a team of dedicated staff:
"We work on all facets of the construction process from demolition through to seismic strengthening on existing builds, remediation of contaminated sites, all civil works, multi-storey construction and fit-out.
Johnstone Construction employ twelve fulltime staff across various facets of the business in roles such as carpentry, civil engineering, quantity surveying, operations management, financial administration and project management.
We encourage and support training with 25% of our staff taking up the opportunity to be enrolled in some form of external training. They are either gaining a new qualification or furthering an existing one. All of them are able to apply their training to their current roles which is having a positive impact on the business and reinforcing engagement in their roles."

- Our Leading Hand, Tane Mason, is studying towards a Diploma in Civil Engineering
Tane’s training covers building materials, structures, hydraulics, transport systems and land surveying.
- Our Apprentice Carpenter, Michael Katene, is studying towards a Trade Certificate in Carpentry
Michael's training covers framing, set out, finishing work and form work.
- Our Cadet Quantity Surveyor, James Dawson, is studying a Bachelor of Construction majoring in Quantity Surveying
James’s training covers estimating and procurment, calculating variations, submitting claims and final accounts.
- Our Operations Manager, Susy Pryde, is undertaking study in Corporate Governance via Governance NZ.
This covers essential elements of good governance principles including risk management; financial accounting; corporate governance; corporate accountability; applied corporate law.
